Sunday Funday

By: Nicole Kucharski

Sundays are days meant for relaxation, meditation, and, let’s face it: resting days for your liver. One way to get a jump start on your day is brunch. Brunch, a scrumptious combination of breakfast and lunch, gives the taste buds something to remember. Here are some simple, yet delicious, ideas for your next sunday funday brunch day.

#1 The classic egg bacon and cheese served with a side of tater tots

All  you need is: 1 egg, 2 strips of bacon, a slice of american cheese, an english muffin, and frozen bag of tater tots from your local grocer’s.

Fry the bacon eggs and tater tots on a skillet. Toast the english muffin in a toaster. Top the sandwich off with a slice of american cheese, and voila!

#2 Mickey mouse pancakes

Ordinary pancakes are fun, but Mickey Mouse pancakes rock. You go about making these like any pancake recipe, with the exception of adding two smaller circular pancakes. The trick to making these two small pancakes symmetrical is with the help of cookie cutter shapes. When making the mini pancakes, pour the batter into the cookie cutter shape and fry on the skillet. To make the Mickey face, use fruits to create your personalized facial features. While these pancakes might not taste any different, I promise that they will at least put a smile on your face.

#3 Berry shake

If you’re in the mood for something filling and sweet, try this simple shake recipe.

You’ll need about 1/2 cup of blueberries, 3 oz of milk, ice, and sugar according to your desired sweetness level. Mix all of the ingredients in a mixer so that the consistency is perfect for drinking through a straw.

#4 The banan-wich.

If you’re not a bacon and egg kind of person, try this simple but delicious sandwich recipe. All you need are two toasted slices of cinnamon raisin bread, peanut butter (or nutella), banana slices, and some more raisins. Stack the ingredients in between the the two slices of toast and enjoy!
