The Muppets are no longer puppets living carelessly on Sesame Street. Well, maybe they are, but they’re serving something new for today’s audiences. The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora, is a new Disney series that teaches kids and young adults about simple and delicious recipes. From breakfast and dinner to pastries and desserts, the muppets are sharing their favorite recipes with a cabbage-patch audience. For anyone who remembers watching Sesame Street during their own cabbage-patch days, has to find this show great, if not just a tad cute.
I wasn’t surprised to find that the list of recipes isn’t quite fit for a 5-year-old to make on their own and I myself found quite a few to have some pretty delicious potential. For breakfast I loved the idea of pancakes with a twist: Lemon-Pecan Pancakes. The California 7-Layer Dip struck me as the perfect game day appetizer. The Trail Mix Popcorn is another simple and light snack for a movie night. In case of major sweet-tooth, I loved the Fruit Parfait with Toasted Coconut recipe.
On the Disney website, you can find repeats of past episodes and look at the many Muppet recipes. Trust me, if you have a little kid in you, you will definitely enjoy this show.
